NUTRITION: READY RECKONER FOR CALCULATIONS
Determine the daily dietary requirement (Calories, Protein) based on Age, Gender, and Type of work.
(Use table 1 and/or 2)
CU : Consumption Unit. One unit represents Recommended Dietary Allowance of energy for a sedentary man
Step 2: Take dietary history including the food items and the amounts consumed. (Use Figure 1 for measurements)
Step 3: Determine the amount of energy, protein consumed. (Use table 3)
Step 4: Determine if the caloric consumption is adequate, inadequate or excess. If excess or inadequate, determine the percentage.
